ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Roanoke County Public Schools has officially named Dr. James (Jamie) Soltis as its next superintendent, and he will be taking office this upcoming school year.
We sat down with him to talk about his background and what he has planned for the division moving forward.
Dr. Jamie Soltis will be taking over for current superintendent, Dr. Ken Nicely, starting July 1st. The Glenvar High School graduate is looking forward to leading the way for the division he is a product of.
“I started off in the world as a chemist for the government, a governmental contractor, but a coach at Glenvar High School, where I went to school. Coach Myers made such a big difference in my life, I had this pull, something pulling me to pay that forward,” Dr. Soltis.
