DEFOREST, Wis. (WKOW) — QTS Data Centers is considering annexation into the Village of DeForest for a new data center project, Village of DeForest Administrator Bill Chang announced Monday.

Chang said the village has not yet received a formal petition or applications for land use approvals.

If QTS pursues annexation, the proposal will be reviewed under state statutes and assessed for its impact on the village, according to a press release. The Wisconsin Department of Administration will also evaluate if the annexation serves the public interest.

Chang said public engagement will be part of the process, ensuring community members can learn and comment on the potential project. The village will not proceed with formal reviews until a complete application is submitted.
