COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Two months after a wrong-way crash involving a former Midlands police chief, newly released video shows what exactly happened in the minutes following the wreck.

The Aug. 27 crash involved Steve Jonas, who at the time was the chief of the South Congaree Police Department, as well as another vehicle on South Beltline Boulevard in Columbia.

After the crash, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said three people from the other car were taken to a hospital, but there was no mention of Jonas’ condition.

Nearly a week later, the Town of South Congaree said Jonas suffered from a transient ischemic attack, commonly known as a “mini stroke,” at the time of the wreck.
