YUMA COUNTY, AZ (AZFamily) — Two people were arrested in a multiagency operation targeting unverified sex offenders in Yuma County last week.

The sex offender compliance operation was a collaboration among agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service and the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, focused on areas such as Yuma, Somerton, San Luis and Dateland.

Federal officials say authorities verified 26 sex offenders were compliant with their registration requirements. At the same time, one was unable to have their registration verified and is pending further investigation, and two others were arrested for unrelated charges.
