PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of a woman at a Phoenix senior living facility on Sunday.

Police confirmed on Monday that 58-year-old Salvador Najera Jr. was taken into custody for the murder of 63-year-old Michelle Marie Semenjuk.

The shooting happened on her front porch just before 5 p.m. Sunday at Phoenix Manor near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road .

Police said they received multiple 911 calls from neighbors after they heard a loud bang and then the Semenjuk’s son screaming for help.

Semenjuk was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Police said witnesses saw Najera Jr. walking away from her apartment right after the shooting. Officers said he called his family and told them he had shot someone.
