ATLANTA — An Atlanta Police officer was involved in a shooting Monday night and the incident is now under investigation, the department told 11Alive.
Atlanta Police Deputy Chief Prenzinna Spann said that officers responded to 2045 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in response to a trespassing call. When officers showed up, they found a man matching the description and he began to run away, Spann said.
While police were in the process of trying to arrest him, Spann said an officer fired his weapon and hit the suspect, but the suspect continued to run away. Police officers later found the suspect at 2088 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, where officers rendered aid. The suspect was taken to Grady Hospital for treatment.
