GRAND LAKE, La. (KPLC) - It’s not every day you see high school students building an electric vehicle. STEM students at Grand Lake are demonstrating that they have the skills to build a road-worthy ride from start to finish.
“It’s just crazy. I wasn’t expecting this when I signed up for this class. I was expecting smaller versions of vehicles and stuff like that. It’s insane to be able to work on something this big for a small school like us,” student Mason Dupuie said.
The students have been working on building a “Switch Lab” electric vehicle since the beginning of the school year.
STEM teacher Joshua Fitkin says the idea came from a Facebook advertisement two years ago, and he wanted his students to bring the idea to life.
