Regional carrier Eastern Airways has grounded its entire fleet and axed all flights.

Passengers who had booked with the airline, which ran domestic routes from airports right across the UK, have been told to stay away as no services will be running, according to the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

Eastern Airways customers are being told to arrange alternative travel themselves through other airlines, rail or coach operators.

On Monday morning Eastern Airways (UK) Ltd lodged a notice of intention to appoint an administrator at the Insolvency and Companies Court, which sits within the High Court.
