THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Families gathered at the McDuffie Woods Community Center Monday evening for a trunk-or-treat event.
The early Halloween celebration provided a safe alternative for children to collect candy ahead of Friday’s holiday.
“I think it’s just a safer way, because everything that’s going on ... it’s safe,” said Anthony Haynes, who attended the event. “We can come out, we’ve got people that’s just serving the community. We love it.”

The Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee wrapped up its 39th year on Saturday night, drawing crowds to the festival with live music, food, and games.
