IDAHO COUNTY – On October 25, 2025, around 9:50 p.m., Idaho County Dispatch received a 911 call from an iPhone detecting a crash. An Idaho County Deputy found the vehicle approximately 500 feet down an embankment off Highway 95, near milepost 227 south of the White Bird Battlefield parking lot.

According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Grangeville Mountain Rescue Unit, Syringa Ambulance and Extrication, and the Salmon River Fire Department responded to the scene. They assisted in extricating the driver and performed a rope rescue to hoist the driver up the hill.

The driver was transported by Syringa Ambulance for medical treatment. Frank’s Towing and Recovery recovered the vehicle the next day.
