TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A pedestrian was killed after being hit by two vehicles in Tangipahoa Parish, troopers said.

According to Louisiana State Police, the crash happened early Monday morning, October 27, on I-55 near LA Highway 40.

The name of the pedestrian has not yet been released.

The pedestrian was traveling north in the left lane of I-55 when a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe struck the person while traveling in the same lane on the interstate, troopers said. They added that after the first incident and before emergency crews arrived at the scene, the pedestrian was struck a second time by a 2020 Freightliner.

According to LSP, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the Hyundai and the Freightliner were not hurt.
