BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man has been found guilty for a drive-by shooting that killed a 13-year-old girl.

Erie County District Attorney Michael Keane announced Monday that 22-year-old Avantae "Tay" Ayala of Buffalo has been found guilty on all counts for his role in a drive-by shooting that occurred in 2023.

According to the DA's office, on July 7, 2023, Ayala was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when he fired a shot from an illegal pistol at a group of teenagers standing outside of an apartment on Mortimer Street in the city of Buffalo. 13-year-old Miracle Hunt was the only person struck by the bullet, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
