Meghan Markle's 69-year-old mother Doria Ragland, has sparked chatter online after appearing with her daughter's celebrity neighbour Oprah Winfrey at a star-studded Los Angeles book launch.

On Thursday, the American former social worker attended the launch of beauty mogul Anastasia Soare's autobiography Raising Brows, hosted by Oprah at the Ebell Theatre.

The high-profile event drew an A-list crowd, including Sharon Stone, Cindy Crawford, and Eva Longoria, to name a few.

However Markle did not attend the event, leaving her mother solo with the talk show queen.

Footage from the evening, shared on social media, showed Ragland beaming beside the 71-year-old talk show legend as the pair posed for photos.
