LIBERTY – The Liberty Museum and Arts Center hosted its 31st Harvest Fest and Great Chili Cook Off last Saturday. The highlight of the festival was the great Chili cook-off with chilis from local restaurants and from home cooks as well. They were all vying for the best chili in their own categories of meat, vegetarian, and vegan chilis. For a $10 donation, visitors got to try all the chilis and voted for their favorites.

Naomi Frumess won in the meat division. Phyllis Gallo handily won the Vegetarian Division, and the Liberty Diner won in the restaurant group. Frumess talked about the contest. “We have home-cooked chilies, and we have two restaurant chilies. And people come and they taste them, blind tasting, they don’t know who cooked what.
