INDIANAPOLIS — A fire damaged at least two homes on Indianapolis’ near north side Tuesday morning. Firefighters were called just after 5:40 a.m. to the 2900 block of North Delaware Street, near 30th and East Meridian.
Officials say the blaze started in a vacant home and spread to a neighboring house. About 70 firefighters from seven stations worked for roughly an hour and a half to bring it under control.
A family of three and their pet escaped safely from a home north of the fire, and another family to the south evacuated without injury. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
