MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Shelby County Commission voted to override Mayor Lee Harris' veto of their resolution to synch Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) Board Member elections with those of the county commissioners, effectively cutting short newly-elected board members' terms.

Education advocates said this has been 10 months in the making. Since the firing of former MSCS Superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins, they've wanted to have their say at the ballot box.
