ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Jamaican cuisine is the only thing on the menu at Country Style by Chef Andrew on Hollywood Road in northwest Atlanta.
“Everybody comes here for the real, authentic Jamaican food. We do it just like Jamaica,” chef Andrew Cohen said.
Cohen grew up on the island before moving to Atlanta in 2018. But most of his family, including his 16-year-old daughter, still live there and are bracing for Hurricane Melissa to make landfall.
“I keep talking to people and yesterday they are like, ‘Oh, we are fine. It’s not going to be that crazy.’ But I know it’s going to be crazy,” Cohen said.
On Monday the National Hurricane Center upgraded Melissa to a Category 5 storm, tracking wind speeds of 175 miles per hour.
