ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Police responded to a bomb threat near the Georgia State Capitol in Downtown Atlanta on Tuesday morning.
At around 3 a.m., Atlanta police told Capitol police about the potential threat at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Capitol Avenue. Officers roped off the scene and used loudspeakers to tell people to stay away during the investigation.
According to Georgia State Patrol, a K-9 swept the area but didn’t find anything. The area was cleared at around 4:45 a.m.
Authorities have yet to release information about who or what led to the bomb threat. Atlanta News First is working to learn more.
