In a bizarre incident a drunken father killed his own son and then absconded from home to escape arrest . This heart-rending incident took place in Kemptali Baidyamura area under Melaghar police station last night. Police sources from Melaghar said that Shimul Das (40), a fish seller by profession and a habitual drunkard of Kemptali Baidyamura area , had returned home last night in inebriated condition and created trouble. His twelve year old son Anupam tried to dissuade his father from his depredations and attempts to attack his mother. But in a fit of rage Shimul Das turned on his son and strangled him to death before dumping his body in a nearby rubber garden.
