NEWARK, New Jersey (PIX11) -- Travelers who may have passed through Newark Liberty International Airport this month may have been exposed to measles, according to the New Jersey Department of Health.

Health officials say a non-New Jersey resident who tested positive for measles passed through Newark airport Terminal B on Oct. 19 between 2:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Anyone who may have visited the area within the same time frame may have been exposed to measles and is advised to contact their local health department or health care provider before going to the medical office.

Symptoms of measles include a high fever, cough, runny nose, watery red eyes, and a rash. The rash usually begins as flat red spots that appear on the face at the hairline and spread downward to the neck, torso, arms, leg
