CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) - The Ninth Judicial District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday that one person arrested in a January SWAT incident was sentenced to four years in the New Mexico Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to a charge of "battery upon a peace officer."
According to the office, Jesus Anaya pleaded guilty to a charge of "battery upon a peace officer," with a sentence enhanced "for being a habitual offender."
Anaya was initially arrested on Jan. 22, as noted in previous reports, on outstanding warrants. Anaya was found in an attic at a home in the 800 block of Merriwether Street at the time and was arrested after the activation of the Clovis Police Department SWAT Team.
