One had to admire the ability of Quebec Liberal Leader Pablo Rodriguez to rapidly pivot away from a disastrous gaffe on the Constitution to a successful general council meeting of the party over the weekend.
Last week, Rodriguez walked into a bear trap that had been half-heartedly placed at his feet by the National Assembly press gallery. Out of nowhere and with little prompting, Rodriguez declared that he’d like to, one day, sign Canada’s 1982 Constitution.
Even mentioning the fact that Quebec, the only French-majority province, has always refused to do so is indeed a sign that the Constitution needs fixing. No argument there.
