Marcus Jones' stellar play has earned him a payday.

The New England Patriots have signed the slot cornerback/punt returner to a contract extension, the team announced Tuesday. It's a three-year deal for Jones that will keep him under contract through the 2028 season, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero report.

Jones has been one of the Patriots' best all-around players this season, making significant contributions as both a punt returner and slot cornerback. The 27-year-old leads the NFL in punt return average (21.6 yards) and earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors in Week 4 when he racked up 167 punt returns and a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers.
