COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) has confirmed eight new measles cases in Spartanburg County since Friday, bringing the statewide total to 33 cases in 2025. Of those, 30 are connected to the ongoing Upstate outbreak, according to health officials.

DPH said all eight new cases were linked to close contacts of known cases who had been quarantining at home. Officials called the successful containment “a positive public health outcome,” noting that early quarantining continues to be highly effective in preventing community spread.
