MT. PLEASANT, Iowa (KYOU) - A traveling exhibit is giving the Mount Pleasant community a closer look at the moments that shaped the nation’s birth during the Revolutionary War.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution brought the interactive display to Mt. Pleasant, offering visitors the chance to learn about ordinary people who made a difference during the war.
“We’re all about history in DAR and so this is just...we think this is just a great exhibit,” said Charlene Seggerman, a chapter member who helped bring the exhibit to the community.
The display connects visitors with Americans who lived through the war, from witnesses to prominent voices in the battle. Seggerman said the exhibit shows that supporting the Revolutionary War wasn’t limited to those who fought.
