NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Batches of mixed nuts have been recalled from Stop & Shop stores across the East Coast due to an undeclared hazelnut allergen, according to the FDA.

The company Hampton Farms issued a recall of its products, Mixed Nuts Roasted Unsalted 8 oz. and Mixed Nuts Roasted and Salted 8oz., due to hazelnut not being included in the allergen warning statement, the FDA said.

The nuts were distributed and sold in Stop & Shop stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island between Sep. 2 and Sep. 9.

Hampton Farms discovered the label issue during routine paperwork on Sep. 15, however, no illnesses have been reported to date.

Customers who may have purchased the nuts are advised to throw them away or return them for a full refund.
