Multinational food giant Cargill is laying off dozens of employees at its global headquarters in Wayzata as a result of an ongoing "business restructuring."
Cargill plans to eliminate about 80 corporate positions based in the office at 15407 McGinty Road West in Wayzata. The agribusiness informed workers this week of the upcoming layoffs, effective by the end of December.
"As communicated to our employees, Cargill is undergoing a business restructuring that is resulting in a reduction in force of certain roles at the Wayzata Office Center, in addition to other locations," the company said in a WARN notice sent Monday to Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.
Impacted employees are eligible for severance pay and career transition assistance.
