The Greater Sudbury Police Service was involved in some significant arrests in October through the work of its Break, Enter and Robbery unit.
“Recently, the BEAR unit has been involved in high-profile investigations and arrests, identifying and apprehending prolific offenders responsible for violent and property-related crimes in our community and across the province,” the police service said in a release.
Sudbury police, for instance, assisted Durham Regional Police in nabbing an individual wanted for violent firearm-related offences.
BEAR unit detectives “located the individual in Greater Sudbury and conducted surveillance,” said GSPS. When it was determined the suspect was heading to southern Ontario, the city police worked with members of Durham Regional to arrest him.
