EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Redtail Renewables and Pacolet Milliken held a ribbon-cutting ceremony of the renewable natural gas project at the West Daviess County Landfill.
Officials say the new facility captures landfill gas and converts it into renewable natural gas, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing the landfill with additional revenue.
“If the wellfield and the projects weren’t here, the methane emissions would just go into the atmosphere and methane is 84 times worse as a greenhouse gas than CO2, so what this project does is it captures all of that methane and converts it to renewable energy,” says Casey Holsapple, CEO of Redtail Renewables.
