CLEVELAND — Cleveland police have safely located a woman believed to have been involved in a possible abduction downtown Friday afternoon.
According to the department, officers received a call just after 2:15 p.m. claiming that a woman had been forced into a car near West 9th Street and West St. Clair Avenue. Authorities say surveilance footage from the scene "appears to show a male and female known to each other engaged in an altercation" before the woman tries to walk away, only to be pushed into the vehicle by the man. The car then sped off eastbound.
More than an hour after sending their alert, however, police confirmed that the woman involved had been found and was safe. In addition, "Officers confirmed there was no cause to the abduction."
