More than 40 days after protests began at Tezpur University, Assam, the agitation led by the Tezpur University Teachers’ Association (TUTA) continues, with teachers, students, and employees united in their demand for the removal of Vice-Chancellor Professor Shambhu Nath Singh over alleged financial irregularities and fund mismanagement.

TUTA has alleged that the university misused funds under the University Grants Commission (UGC) Capital Assets scheme during the 2024–25 financial year.
