LOUISVILLE, Ky. — suspect is in custody after a shooting in Valley Station left a man injured Saturday night.

The shooting was reported just before 8:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of Valley Station Road.

There, police said they found a man outside of a business with a gunshot wound.

The victim was quickly treated by police until EMS arrived and then transported to UofL Hospital downtown.

Police said they detained a person of interest for shooting the victim and they were identified on Sunday as 29-year-old Matthew Tarrance.

He is being charged with assault.

Tarrance is currently being held at Metro Corrections awaiting arraignment.

LMPD’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling the investigation.
