LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln first responders and race organizers are gearing up for Nebraska’s largest road race on Sunday.
More than 9,000 runners will participate in the 12th annual Good Life Halfsy in Lincoln, marking another record year.
The Lincoln Police Department’s main priority during the event will be the safety and security of all participants and the community as a whole.
Officers will be at the start and finish lines as well as along the race route to manage traffic and crowds.
Drivers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the race map and choose an alternate route Sunday morning.
“The goal will be to get intersections opened as quickly as possible to avoid lengthy delays,” LPD Captain Ben Kopsa said.
