PETTIS COUNTY — A Sedalia man is facing charges following a traffic stop last week.
Richard A. Diaz, 36, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and identity theft.
A probable cause statement says Diaz was known to have an active warrant for his arrest and was observed in the passenger seat of a vehicle on Broadway Boulevard. Diaz reportedly gave the responding officer a false identity.
Once a deputy arrived Diaz reportedly admitted his true identity and to having 22 grams of methamphetamine on his person.
Diaz is in custody at the Pettis County Jail on a $10,000 bond. He made his initial court appearance Monday morning.
