LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Nebraska women’s basketball team opened the 2025-26 season with a high-scoring performance inside Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Huskers raced out to a double-digit lead within the first four minutes. Then, the Big Red went to the locker room at halftime up by 41 points. In the end, Nebraska won 103-46 over an out-matched Northwestern State squad.
Clare Johnson, a Samford transfer, led the Huskers with 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Four other players scored in double figures including Britt Prince. The Elkhorn North grad scored 19 points while grabbing five rebounds.
Nebraska shot 61 percent from the floor with solid efforts across the roster. Monday’s game was played in front of more than 8,000 fans, many of which were middle school students who attended a pep rally
