MANDAN, ND (KXNET) — It is said that good things come to those who are patient and put in time. One North Dakota high school band has been doing just that, and is now reaping the benefits after a surprise of a lifetime.

The Mandan Braves band is locally known as one of the best of the best, but its because of their immense talents, their recognition of that has gone far beyond the local level now.

The band members and their families thought they were just gathering for a routine meeting, but little did they know what big news was about to be revealed.

"You are going to be invited this evening to the 41st London Parade, on the first of January 2027. What do you think of that?" said Bob Bone, the founder and chairman of the London Parade.
