MINOT, ND (KXNET) — In 2021, one Air Force veteran knew he wanted to use his experiences to help others, and now, he's doing just that.
In today's Veterans Voices, KX News sat down with Max Pontenila.
Pontenila began his service in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 18. From September 1998 to September 2018, he spent 20 years in the Air Force where he says he was able to serve across the country.
"The bulk of my deployments happened within about a six-year window, so from about 2000 to 2006 when a lot of things were going on, especially post 9/11," Pontenila said. "My first deployment, I went to Saudi Arabia. After that, we went to Kyrgyzstan, and that was after 9/11 happened, and then from Kyrgyzstan, I went to the United Arab Emirates.
