An investigation is ongoing after a 10-year-old girl suffered a broken leg in a Halloween hit-and-run . The youngster was knocked over by an electric bike, which was being ridden by two males wearing balaclavas.

The incident happened on Endsleigh Drive, Acklam , Middlesbrough , in Friday, October 31, at around 5.30pm, when many families were out trick or treating. The bike rode off towards Levick Crescent following the crash.

The girl was taken James Cook University Hospital by ambulance, where medics confirmed her right leg was broken. A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said on Tuesday, November 4: " As lots of people would have been out and about at this time, ‘Trick or Treating’ for Halloween, we are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
