Railway passengers have been warned of delays this evening amid an ongoing incident.

Bomb units have been called to Stockport railway station following reports of a 'suspicious' item found at the site.

Services have been cancelled as police, fire crews and paramedics work at the scene on Greek Street this evening (Tuesday, November 4).

There is currently a 200m cordon in place around the station, Manchester Evening News reports.

The incident is focussed around a footbridge at Stockport railway station with all trains currently unable to serve the station.
