A Huntsville man wanted in connection with a September homicide was taken into custody in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after a coordinated effort between the Huntsville Police Department and U.S. Marshals, police announced Tuesday.

According to Huntsville Police, warrants were obtained for 23-year-old Tyshaun Dominique Darnell Hampton on Sept. 17 for murder and assault in connection with the Sept. 16 shooting on Binford Drive .

After the warrants were issued, HPD requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Police say the task force worked with the U.S. Marshals Eastern Wisconsin Violent Offender Task Force, which located Hampton in Milwaukee.

Hampton was apprehended without incident and remains in Wisconsin awaiting extradition to Huntsville.
