MINOT, ND (KXNET) — A record no one wanted to see broken. For five weeks now, lawmakers in Washington D.C have remained at an impasse over how to fund the government, leaving federally funded industries like air travel in limbo.

Here in North Dakota, airport leaders say the shutdown hasn't taken too noticeable of a toll so far, but travelers should still keep their heads on a swivel if they're planning to take to the skies any time soon.

"As this continues to go on, the federal employees that are impacted are going to continue to see those struggles," Williston Basin International Airport director Anthony Dudas said.
