Manchester voters elected Republican incumbent Jay Ruais to a second term as mayor of the state’s largest city on Tuesday, with unofficial results showing he defeated Democratic Ward 8 school board member Jessica Spillers 9,618 to 6,684.
Former alderman, school board member and 2021 candidate for mayor Rich Girard announced a write-in campaign for mayor Oct. 28. Unofficial write-in tallies were not available Tuesday night.
Voters in Manchester also selected two aldermen at-large, two school committee members at-large, one ward alderman, one school committee member and various ward officials, including a moderator, a ward clerk and three selectmen.
