Roseville Mayor Robert Taylor easily trounced his write-in challenger in Tuesday’s election results, according to the Macomb County Clerk’s Office.

Online results showed Taylor, a retired Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy, defeated artist Edward “Gonzo” Stross by an 82.51%-927% tally, or 4,372 votes to 927.

In the closing days of the campaign, Stross, who was banking on his support for the long-vacant Sacred Heart Church building, questioned the mayor’s residency while deflecting blame for referring to a city volunteer as an “a– kisser.”
