BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — After the passing of former vice president Dick Cheney Monday, Governor Kelly Armstrong has directed flags to be flown at half-staff until the day of Cheney's interment.
Cheney, who served as vice president for eight years with President George W. Bush, died as a result of complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease, his family said in a statement. Cheney also served as a congressman from Wyoming, White House chief of staff, and U.S. Secretary of Defense.
Armstrong directed all U.S. and North Dakota flags to be flown at half-staff Tuesday, and encouraged North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses.
