On Wednesday at 4:09 a.m. the National Weather Service released an updated high wind warning valid from 7 p.m. until Thursday 8 a.m. for Berkshire County.
"West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 to 60 mph expected," adds the weather service. "A line of showers and isolated thunderstorms will rapidly track across the region from west to east this evening. Winds will quickly shift to the northwest and strengthen. While the strongest winds will likely only last for a short window (2 to 4 hours) tonight, these winds will be capable of damage including downed trees/limbs and power lines. Gusty winds will continue through the early morning hours on Thursday but will gradually weaken."
