Two military vehicle rollovers near Birch Lake on Monday sent four Army soldiers to a Fairbanks hospital, according to an Alaska State Trooper dispatch.

AST reported that around 12:53 a.m., one military vehicle overturned at Richardson Highway Mile Post 309.

The driver and two passengers were injured, prompting them to be transported to Fairbanks for treatment.

Troopers noted the vehicle had hit an icy stretch of the Richardson four miles north of Birch Hill and slid off the road.

A second Army vehicle was dispatched to recover the first one. However, it too slid off the road at Mile Post 305.

The soldier driving the second vehicle was sent to Fairbanks with injuries.
