The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) has released an update on plans to create a new travel hub in Cambridge. More than 500 people have responded to a consultation to replace the existing Newmarket Road Park & Ride.
The existing site is leased and sits on land earmarked for future development. The new site is near the Newmarket Road and Airport Way junction, with easier access from the A14 .
The designs for the travel hub include:
Double the current car parking spaces;
200 new cycle parking spaces and storage;
Electric vehicle charging facilities;
Signal-controlled access junctions on Newmarket Road and Airport Way;
Extension of the Teversham shared-use path into the site.
