BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — On Tuesday, the Bristol, Tennessee City Council held a meeting, during which council members heard a revised amendment that would allow one rooster per parcel within city limits.

In the summer of 2024, staff reportedly received multiple complaints about roosters, prompting a draft amendment that was presented on Sept. 3, 2024.

During the September meeting, a draft amendment was presented that would prohibit roosters in city limits. The council then voted to table the issue until staff could research issues brought up by citizens.

At Tuesday's meeting, the following proposal was provided:

"Beginning and after May 20, 2026, the keeping or maintenance of more than one (1) rooster per parcel is prohibited within the City other than on property zoned in the open-spac
