BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The U.S. Attorney's Office has filed a motion seeking to revoke a federal magistrate judge's decision granting release to a Bakersfield police detective who's facing child pornography charges.

Marc Lugo, who was granted release Tuesday, will remain in custody until the motion is reviewed by another court.

A hearing date for the motion wasn't listed as of Wednesday morning.

Lugo, a detective in Bakersfield Police Department's special victims unit, allegedly instructed a 15-year-old girl in South Carolina to send him sexually explicit images and videos.

The illicit material was found on cellphones belonging to Lugo by digital forensic examiners with the U.S. Secret Service, according to the criminal complaint. It says Lugo used apps to hide the material.
