RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) - Two more people have died because of the flu in North Carolina.
The Department of Health and Human Services says the number of deaths for the flu season now stands at four.
Three of those deaths are people 65 years or older, and one is between 50 and 64 years old.
DHHS added a death that happened for the week ending October 25, and another for last week.
The first death this season happened during the week ending October 4th, and another the week ending October 18th.
DHHS is urging everyone six months and older to get the flu and COVID-19 vaccines. Adults 60 and older, along with pregnant women, are encouraged to talk with their providers about RSV vaccination options.
Last season, 544 people died from the flu, the highest number since 2009.
